The brainchild of sound artist Gustavo Matamoros, @Listening Gallery is the first multichannel sound installation art lab for the creative engagement of acoustical public space in South Florida. You will find the Listening Gallery in the heart of Miami Beach, at 800 Lincoln Road, affixed to the facade of Artcenter / South Florida.
Three recomendations for sleepless nights tomorrow in Miami:
1. New World Symphony will have 30 minute concerts through-out the night.
2. At the Bass Museum - an epic from filmmaker and video artist Marco Brambilla, called “Civilization (Megaplex).” Plus Miami International Piano Festival, 30-minute piano concerts will be featured. 2100 Collins Ave., Miami Beach.
3. ArtCenter/South Florida and its new outdoor Listening Gallery will have a sound-art and music work called “Awning,” which can be heard in front of the facade of 800 Lincoln Road. At the same time several blocks away, Frozen Music, along with guest Russell Frehling, will be performing live at 17th Street and Meridian @ the Civic Plaza.

New StandART Video Series
(The Standard Launches a new Series of In-Room Video Installations)
We are thrilled to announce our second installment of our StandART video series to be played inside all the rooms at The Standard hotels. Our last series contained a bevy of artists such as Marco Brambilla and the Niestat Brothers. This time around, Creative Time helped us shake it up again with new artists including the works of Kalup Linzy and Allison Schulnik. All the artists have exhibited around the world and have developed a beloved following of their own. Check out pics from our launch party on Monday here as we celebrated with Kalup, Slater Bradley, Terence, the MisShapes, Creative Time, and Interview.
We’re especially excited about our very own video for which we commissioned the one and only Terence Koh. We let Terence unleash little white bunnies all over The Standard, New York - you’ll have to check in to check out the final product titled: Rabbit Holy Days. Here’s an intro to the rest of our new family of artists and their respective works…
